Gulls should blow away the dragons
Torquay United welcome Wrexham to Plainmoor for the Friday night Blue Square Premier clash live on Setanta Sports 1.
Torquay are now up to fourth following Crawley's four-point deduction for fielding an ineligible player. The Gulls are seeking to gain promotion and thus re-join the Football League after their relegation in 2007.
Paul Buckle's side were impressive last season in their attempt to bounce back at the first opportunity but could only finish in third place and then were knocked out of the play-offs by local rivals Exeter City.
This time around Torquay started the season slowly with five points from their first seven matches but after that the Devon outfit have been on a good run with just two defeats in 24 matches in all competitions.
Wrexham, who were relegated from League 2 last season, have already changed their manager this season in a bid to change the side's fortunes. Experienced manager Brian Little left the club and was replaced at the helm by ex-Wales striker Dean Saunders.
Since Saunders took over the Welsh side have not lost in the league and thus have risen up to their current position of seventh. The Red Dragons are currently four points behind Torquay but have two games in hand.
As both sides come in to the match in relatively good form it is no surprise that neither are odds-on for victory. It is the home side though who are 6/5 favourites for the win, 23/10 is the price for an away win and to make the long trip back to Wrexham a happy one. The draw also can be backed at the same 23/10 price.
The home win looks like the bet especially as Torquay will welcome back top scorer Tim Sills after he missed the FA Trophy victory over Rushden & Diamonds through suspension. Sills is 11/2 favourite to notch the first goal of the game. His strike-partner Roscoe D'Sane looks a better bet though at 7/4 to score at anytime.
For Wrexham top scorer Jefferson Louis is an obvious pick with 12 league goals to his name this season and he is available at 7/1 to score first and 2/1 at anytime. His strike-partner Marc Williams who has scored 11 in the league is slightly favoured at 6/1 for the first goal, 7/4 anytime.
