Gunners have Reds in their sights at Anfield - Betting Preview

rsenal's win at West Ham last Wednesday was their first of 2013, but after their FA Cup tie with Brighton resulted in a rocky 3-2 victory, their confidence going into a tough clash with Liverpool at Anfield could have been higher, yet their record plays in their favour.

Having not lost since March 2007 in fron tof the Kop, the Gunners will know that continuing that run will pile the pressure on the teams around them. Spurs and Everton sit it 4th and 5th respectively, and if Arsene Wenger can lead his team to a victory, Arsenal will rise to only a point behind their North London rivals, and that all important Champions League spot, which their early season form suggested was not a possibility.

Of course, Brendan Rodgers will be looking to bounce back after his side was humbled at the hands of Oldham on Sunday, falling 3-2 and being knocked out of the FA Cup. Lifted by the return of influential trio Pepe Reina, Glen Johnson, and Jose Enrique will sure the Reds up at the back, Liverpool are sure to take the game to Arsenal, whose biggest weakness is at the back, although Belgian defender Thomas Vermaelen will return to aid the Gunners' perils.

With a great conversion rate, Theo Walcott has shone throughout the season, thriving in recent times since his move to the middle of the park. With the league's most prestigious assist creator in Lukas Podolski, Walcott will continue to be a threat in front of the opposition's goal, whilst Santi Cazorla maintains his dynamic playmaker role.

Whilst Arsenal will recognise the humiliation an upset in the cup brings to Liverpool, they will remain as ruthless as ever, but will have to avoid the dangers that on-form Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez brings. Perennially surrounded by controversy, Suarez continues to do his job, netting in important games, and has a good record against the North Londoners.
