Gunners need to keep firing to sink Yellow Submarines

After going four games without a goal Arsène Wenger's Arsenal side have scored 12 goals in their last four games to extend their unbeaten run to 17 matches.

Unfortunately for the Capital club this run has come too late to have a realistic title challenge, the Gunners will still fancy their chances of silverware though as they're in the semi-finals of the FA Cup as well as the quarters of this competition.

In Villarreal they face a tough proposition - Manuel Pellegrini's side have only suffered defeat once at El Madrigal since the start of December and that was against an outstanding Barcelona side, with Arsenal legend Thierry Henry getting the winner.

Furthermore the Spanish outfit have never lost on home soil in the Champions League, in 10 matches they've shut out Celtic and Manchester United twice along the way.

In six matches against English opposition The Yellow Submarines have only let in one goal, unluckily for them it was against Arsenal in the semi-finals three years ago and proved to be the decisive goal of the tie as the Gunners progressed to the final.

The hosts are 8/5 to win here and take a lead over to London. Villarreal have drawn 11 times in 20 Champions League matches so the price of 9/5 on the game finishing level looks really tempting. Arsenal are an 8/5 shot to get a first-leg advantage with victory on the east coast of Spain, but the Gunners have only won once in their last six away legs - failing to score in four of the games.

With these stats it looks like it's going to be a close game but you can be sure Joseba Llorente will want to have a say on the matter - the Spanish forward has scored four goals from his six Champions League outings and is 7/1 to open the scoring in this game and 2/1 to find the net at any point of the game.

For Arsène Wenger's team Emmanuel Adebayor, fresh from two goals at the weekend against Man City, is the club's joint leading scorer (with Robin van Persie) in this season's Champions League campaign with three goals from three games and is priced at 7/1 to grab the first of this game.
