Hodgson 11/10 To Keep Faith With First Half Stars
After England's highly impressive and polished performance against Moldova, William Hill are offering 11/10 that 10 or 11 of Friday's starting XI start the match against the Ukraine on Tuesday. It is 4/5 that eight or nine start and 9/1 that seven or fewer do.
"It would have been easy for England's stars to rest on their laurels after going in 3-0 up at half time, but they continued to impress and all the players made a case for a starting berth on Tuesday," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "The odds suggest that those who did so well in the first half will be given the chance to impress on Tuesday."
England are the overwhelming favourites to defeat Ukraine at 4/11, with the visitors 6/1 and the draw 3/1.
William Hill think that England are so nailed on to win their group, that they are offering 7/2 that they can make it through the whole of qualifying without losing and 14/1 that they do so by winning all of their games.
Frank Lampard scored two against Moldova and William Hill make him the 10/3 favourite to top the England scoring charts during qualifying with Jermain Defoe 7/2.
