Rangers and Celtic - Part 7
Rangers and Celtic have faced each other on numerous occasions this season, but no matter how many times they play each other this is a Scottish derby that will never lack in intensity.
This final Clydesdale Premier League clash will be their seventh meeting in all competitions this season, with Celitc just edging the series 3-2 with one draw.
The Gers are 5/4 at home to make it three wins apiece this year and claim the bragging rights for now. They have already denied Celtic some silverware when beating them in the CIS cup final back in their last meeting and a win here would go a long way to stopping Celtic claiming another league title.
The Bhoys are 7/4 to come away from Ibrox with a win, Celtic will be boosted by their comprehensive victory in the SFA cup semi-final.
Scott Brown and El Hadji Diouf have had their moments this season, the duo are both passionate about their respective clubs and like their teammates are very passionate.
The card index is a popular market for these games and you can back a total bookings index of over 65 at 21/20. Also the first card to be shown in the 1st to 15th minute at 9/4 is well worth a punt. There were six yellows and a red shown in 120 minutes of football the last time the teams met.
Anthony Stokes and Gary Hooper are the firepower for Celtic, they will need no motivation for Sunday's clash. Hooper scored twice when Celtic won 3-0 at Celtic Park and the striker is 6/1 to score first while Stokes, yet to score against the Gers this season, is currently 7/1 to bag the first goal of the game. Georgios Samaras, however, does have the knack for scoring against Rangers this season. He came on to score twice earlier in the season and 9/4 to score at anytime.
Nikica Jelavic has bagged 12 goals this season and he is 9/2 to score first; the Croat has flourished since the loss of Kenny Miller earlier this season. Former Blackburn player El Hadji Diouf is 8/1 to score first and 11/4 to score anytime during the game.
Rangers have only lost three games at home, conceding 14 goals this season. Under 2.5 goals in this game is 10/11 with the Gers defence proving tough to beat.
You can back Celtic to start with a goal lead on our handicaps markets, at 8/15 Celtic are +1, while Rangers are 4/11 to start with the same.
As with most derbies there are always heated encounters and for me this has cards written all over it which is why I would go for the over 65 on bookings at 21/20.
