Ronaldo Set To Stay In Madrid And Bale To Join In Summer?
Cristiano Ronaldo produced a fantastic display in Real Madrid's dismantling of Barcelona in the Copa del Rey despite continued rumblings about him moving in the summer. William Hill are offering 2/1 that the Portuguese winger has left the club by the start of next season (4/11 he is still there).
There also continue to be questions as to the future of Jose Mourinho at the Bernabeu and he is 2/5 to have left Real by the start of next season. There are a number of clubs in the race to sign the Portuguese manager although PSG appear to be in the lead at 7/4 although former club, Chelsea, are 9/4 second favourites to be Mourinho's next club.
Following their progression into the Copa del Rey final, it looks almost certain that Mourinho will end on a high. Real are 1/2 to win one additional trophy this season and 4/1 to win two more.
A name who could be joining Real this summer is Gareth Bale. The Spurs winger is 9/2 to start next season at Real Madrid while it is 8/1 that both Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo start Real's first game of next season.
"The odds indicate that while Jose Mourinho could be on his way, his fellow countryman, Cristiano Ronaldo, looks likely to stay," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "Given his fine form in recent weeks, the prospect of Bale and Ronaldo terrorising Spanish defences is a mouth watering one indeed."
Ronaldo is 2/1 second favourite to win this year's Ballon d'Or behind Lionel Messi at 8/11. Gareth Bale is 33/1, the same price as Xavi.
