Deportivo La Coruna v Espanyol

  • Deportivo have lost just one match in the last 11 they have played at the Riazor.
  • Depor have scored exactly one goal in six of their last seven home league games.
  • Espanyol have won this fixture in Galicia just three times in the top flight, the last time being in 2005, 2-1.
  • At the Riazor these two sides have recorded just two goalless draws in the Spanish top division, in 1972 and 2007.
  • Espanyol have won two of their last four away league fixtures, as many as they managed in their previous 23.

Mallorca v Tenerife

  • Mallorca have recorded one defeat and eight wins in their last 11 home games.
  • Mallorca have scored in their last 19 league matches.
  • Tenerife have won three times and lost twice in their seven visits to Mallorca in the top flight.
  • The last time Tenerife won an away game in La Liga was on an island, 1-0 in Gran Canaria, against arch rivals Las Palmas.

Malaga v Racing Santander

Osasuna v Sevilla

  • Osasuna have scored more than two goals just once in 2009.
  • The team from Pamplona have failed to score just once in front of their own fans in their last 15 home league fixtures.
  • The last three meetings at the Reyno de Navarra Stadium have seen three draws, two goalless.
  • Sevilla’s last win in Pamplona was in May 1993, 1-0.
  • Since 1990 only twice has this match in Pamplona seen more than two goals scored.

Barcelona v Atletico Madrid

  • Four of the five goals scored by the Catalans have been headers.
  • Guardiola’s team have not conceded a goal in 10 of their last 20 home league games.
  • Atletico have kept three clean sheets in their last 20 away league matches.
  • Last season Atletico equaled their heaviest defeat at the Nou Camp when they lost 6-1.

Almeria v Getafe

  • Almeria have not scored in their last five league matches.
  • Only the two teams from Barcelona were able to get away with all three points from the Estadio del Mediterraneo last season (Barcelona 2-0 and Espanyol 3-0).
  • Getafe have always scored in the top flight against Almeria and lost only once in four games.
  • The win in Santander was only Getafe’s second away win in 2009 after beating Sevilla back in April.
  • Only once in their last 11 league games have Getafe failed to score.

Athletic Bilbao v Villarreal

  • Athletic shared the points at the San Mames just twice last season.
  • Villarreal have won their last three games in the league at the San Mames.
  • Athletic have never scored more than two goals against Villarreal in the league.
  • Genoa are unbeaten in the last eight match-days of Serie A between this season and last.
  • The Yellow Submarines have lost just once in their last 10 away league matches.

Real Zaragoza v Valladolid

  • Valladolid have not won in the league since 15th March (1-0 against Getafe).
  • Zaragoza were unbeaten in their last 17 league matches in the second division and they started the season with a 1-0 win against Tenerife.
  • Valladolid have failed to score in nine of their last 12 visits to Zaragoza in the top division.
  • The last encounter between these two sides at La Romareda ended in a 3-2 win for the visitors in November 2007.

Real Madrid v Xerez

  • Xerez have already received three red cards in two games.
  • The last time Real failed to score at the Bernabeu was in February 2008 when they lost 0-1 to Getafe.
  • Since March 2008 Real have lost three times at the Bernabeu, Sevilla 3-4 in December 2008, Barcelona, 2-6, and Mallorca 1-3 in May 2009.
  • Berlin have not lost to Freiburg in their previous six matches (four wins, two draws).
  • Xerez have yet to score their first goal in the top flight.

Valencia v Sporting Gijon

  • Sporting kept a clean sheet last week against Almeria, only the second time they have managed it in 2009.
  • Sporting did not draw a single game away from home last season, six wins and 13 defeats.
  • Last season Sporting won at the Mestalla 3-2, it was their first win since 1991 and only their fourth in Primera Division.
  • Since November 2008 Valencia have lost only one league game at home, against Real Valladolid 1-2.
