Steelworkers to be burned by the Devils

Man Utd's auspicious start to the Champions League will need to end in Romania if they want to replicate their form from last season.

Their 3-3 draw at home to Basel in the last game week leaves Alex Ferguson's side third in what should be a relatively easy group. However a win against Romanian side Galati could see the Red Devils top the group, depending on the result in the other game.

The Romanian champions have managed to keep things tight in their first two games, they failed to win, but they did cause both Basel and Benfica problems.

If they can get anything from this game it would ultimately be hailed as a glorious success. United have currently slipped off the top of the Premier League due to a 1-1 draw with bitter rivals Liverpool, they will want to put that to the back of their mind and use this game as a springboard for some good form.

Alex Ferguson has admitted that he never heard of his opponents before, but that will only spur the 'Steelworkers' on to make sure that Ferguson never forgets his Romanian trip.

Berbatov travels with the squad and despite not really featuring much, bar cup games, you'd expect that he will at some point be involved in the match. The Bulgarian is Even money to score anytime. Michael Owen is another squad player who could be involved and the former Liverpool player is 7/2 to open the scoring.

Veteran midfielder Gabriel Paraschiv asked the chairman for a wage cut as his performances hadn't been good enough. He could be in for a pay rise should be score against United. The 33 year old is 14/1 to score first and 11/2 to score anytime. Given that United were beaten three times by Basel i wouldn't rule out a Romanian player scoring.

At 1/5 it's hard to back United to win, the handicap markets may prove a lot more fruitful. The visitors are 4/7 minus one goal, but at 13/8 minus two they might be a bit of value. A lot of the starting eleven will want to prove their worth.

United are odds on to win to nil, but the Red Devils have only kept one clean sheet in their last four games. What could be the bet here is both teams to score at 11/10.

Things could get ragged in the second half and over 1.5 goals at 10/11 in the latter stages looks to be a solid bet. If, somehow, United aren't leading by much at half time then they will go all guns blazing for a win. There is a lot of pressure on this team to turn around its recent form and they will look to smash the Romanian side.
