Wednesday's Champions League preview

Chelsea v Juventus - 19:45 live on Sky Sports 2

2012 Champions League heroes Chelsea start their campaign to retain the trophy against Italian giants Juventus.

The Blues (6/5 to win in 90 minutes) are top of the premiership with 3 wins and 1 draw from their 4 matches, with Eden Hazard (7/1 first scorer and 2/1 any time scorer) looking worth every penny of his enormous transfer fee. And although Fernando Torres(Torres to score any time and Chelsea to win ENHANCED to 7/2) was conspicuous by his absence in their 0-0 draw with QPR, his pace and power will continue to threaten throughout Europe.

Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo knows the importance of home advantage and will be desperate to keep a clean sheet (8/5) at Stamford Bridge.

Juventus swept majestically through the 2011/12 Seria A season. Undefeated in 28 games including 23 wins. They missed out on last year's Champions league competition, having not qualified the year before. However they have been galvanised by ex Italian international and fan's favourite Antonio Conte and after last season's amazing run of results, will be expecting to make an immediate impact this year.

Juve are top of Seria A having won all 3 of their fixtures to date and may be this seasons dark horses and the 13/5 to win at Stamford Bridge could look excellent value come the final whistle. The Bianconeri squad includes quality all round, with veteran Italian International Andrea Pirlo (20/1 first scorer and 7/1 any time scorer) and Chile's Arturo Vidal pulling the strings from midfield and Sebestian Giovinco (Giovinco to score any time and Juventus to win ENHANCED to 7/1) looking every inch a world class striker.

As always no team will want to lose the first match (Draw 21/10), however both these teams enjoy attacking and score for fun (10/11 both teams to score) and (23/20 over 2.5 goals) goals can be expected.

Best bets:

Juventus to win @ 13/5

Over 2.5 goals @ 23/20

Worth a punt:

3-1 correct score @ 18/1

1-3 correct score @ 33/1

Manchester United v Galatasaray - 19:45 live on on Sky Sports 4

Champions League stalwarts Man Utd will be desperate to erase memories of last year's debacle, when they managed to score in every fixture (5/4 Utd to score) but gained a solitary win from their 3 home games and failed to qualify for the knock out stages. However, the Red Devils (1/3) are strong favourites to start this campaign with a win at the Theatre of Dreams.

Despite lying second in the Premiership, United's form has been somewhat erratic, with 10 goals scored and 5 conceded in 4 matches and Sir Alex Ferguson will want to keep Galatasaray's goal chances to a minimum (21/20 Utd to keep a clean sheet) and to make the most of any chances that come their way (5/4 Utd to win to nil).

The ever green Paul Scholes (9/1 first scorer and 10/3 any time scorer) will general the midfield area and while Wayne Rooney is unlikely to have recovered from injury to make an appearance, front man Robin Van Persie (Van Persie to score any time and Man Utd to win ENHANCED to 7/2) is more than capable of turning a match with a sprinkling of genius.

Galatasaray (10/1, Draw 7/2) are a regular in this stage of the competition, won last season's Turkish Super League by 11 points and are unbeaten after 4 matches this campaign. Their squad includes a couple of names familiar to the premiership, such as Milan Baros (12/1 first scorer and 5/1 any time scorer) Emmanuel Eboue (33/1 first scorer and 12/1 any time scorer) and star man Johann Elamander (11/1 first scorer and 4/1 any time scorer), while top domestic scorer Umut Bulut (Bulut to score any time and Galatasaray to win ENHANCED to 25/1) has hit 5 goals so far this season.

Both these teams love to entertain and a high scoring match is not out of the question.

Best bets:

Galatasaray or Draw @ 11/5

Over 3.5 goals @ 11/8

Worth a punt:

2-2 correct score @ 20/1
3-2 correct score @ 25/1
