Gold hopefuls shine a year before Olympics
Ben Ainslie and Mark Cavendish both secured gold medals at the weekend and William Hill have them priced as two of the top Team GB hopes for Olympic Gold. Ainslie picked up a gold medal in the Finn Class at Cowes week and William Hill have cut the odds of him winning gold at the Olympics from Even money to 8/11. Mark Cavendish won in the Olympics test run from London to Surrey and he is offered at 3/1 for victory next year.
"Ben Ainslie and Mark Cavendish represent two of Team GB's best hopes for Olympic success and their victories over the weekend will have cemented hopes that at least two golds will be on the cards in London," said Hill's spokesman Joe Crilly.
