Big freeze could see Thames frozen this year...
With temperatures in the Capital set to plummet to below freezing later this week, William Hill are offering 250/1 that the River Thames freezes solid between Tower Bridge and London Bridge before the end of April.
Big Ben is 100/1 to fail to chime within the same time frame due to inclement weather.
"We are staring down the barrel of a sustained cold snap and despite the fact that the Thames has not frozen over since the Great Freeze of 1963, the temperatures could drop enough to make it a possibility (if not a certainty) this year," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
It is 9/4 for any Premier League football match to be postponed this weekend due to the weather and 6/1 for at least one of the runways at Heathrow to shut before midnight on Friday.
