Meryl Streep, Cast Iron for Oscar
William Hill have trimmed the price of Meryl Streep winning the Best Actress Golden Globe from 4/7 to 1/2 as punters pile on what appears to be the certainty of the award season. Hills offer 11/8 that she does the Globe/Oscar double. George Clooney is 1/2 to win best Actor with the Descendants 8/11 to win best Picture.
"99.6% of our customers who have bet on the best Actress Globe have placed their money on Meryl Streep, they obviously believe she is a cast iron certainty," said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.
