Ronaldo Backed To Better Zlatan This Week And Beyond
This Friday sees Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo go head to head and William Hill think Ronaldo will come out on top on both counts. On a personal level, Ronnie is 11/10 to score more goals than his Swedish counterpart while Portugal are 8/11 to win the first leg and 8/15 to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil.
A victory for Portugal would be a fantastic ending to the year for Ronaldo and would surely see his odds slashed to win the Ballon d'Or. He has already been cut from 5/1 to 5/2 although still remains behind Franck Ribery at Evens and Lionel Messi at 2/1. Ibrahimovic is the 20/1 fourth favourite.
"There are many who think that on a personal level, Ronaldo has been the best player in the world this year," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly. "Whether that is good enough to beat two players who have celebrated fantastic team performances in 2013 is another question."
Ibra is favourite in the betting for the Puskas Award after his fantastic effort against England last year. Having been offered at Even money by William Hill on Monday, it has already been backed into 8/15 and is streets ahead of Neymar's goal against Japan in the Confederations Cup at 7/1.
