Qarabag are 12/1 to win at St James’ Park with William Hill but a more likely bet of Newcastle -2 Handicap (EVS) and a 4-0 victory for the home side at 8/1 looks more appealing for value.

The UEFA Champions League returns this week with some of Europe’s biggest clubs looking to put themselves on their way to Budapest for the final in May.

It’s fair to say Newcastle United have all but confirmed their place in the round of 16 having won the reverse fixture 6-1 against Qarabag just six days ago.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Champions League odds and betting angles for Tuesday’s fixture:

Newcastle United’s 6-1 victory in the first leg means they hold a five-goal advantage in this tie, they last won a two-legged knockout stage tie in a major European competition by five or more goals back in 2004/2005 against Olympiacos.
The Magpies continued their travels over the weekend with a trip to Manchester where their three game winning streak came to an end after a 2-1 defeat in the Premier League although Eddie Howe’s side put up a real fight, William Hill have priced Newcastle to win this one 3-0 at 13/2 on their price boost.
Newcastle United obviously have a huge buffer in this second leg, following that up with another victory here would equal Newcastle United’s all-time record for UEFA Champions League wins in a single season (6).

Qarabag have the chance to make some club history as they look to become the first side from Azerbaijan to beat English opposition in Europe, although a 6-0 defeat to Liverpool and then 6-1 defeat in the first leg doesn’t fill you will confidence.
Wednesday night’s defeat means Qarabag have now lost nine of their last ten outings against English sides in Europe (D1), whilst they’ve lost all five of their away games in England by a 19-1 aggregate scoreline, they are 12/1 with William hill just to win this game within ninety minutes.
Qarabag producing the unthinkable by overturning this 5+ goal deficit would make them the first side in major European competitions history to do so. On the other hand, one more goal conceded here for the Azerbaijani side will equal Bayer Leverkusen’s unwanted record of conceding twenty-eight goals within on campaign since the rebrand back in 1992/1993.

Significant Conditions

The promotion runs from 08:00 (UK time) on Thursday 7th August 2025 until otherwise cancelled by us in accordance with these Terms (the “Promotion Period”).
This Acca Boost promotion is available to both online customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland using the William Hill website (williamhill.com – the “Website”) or William Hill iOS or Android Mobile app (together, the “Apps”) and UK retail customers in William Hill shops.
To qualify, place a Qualifying Acca on a Sports Betting Terminal or over the counter on Smart Hub SSBT in William Hill shops, or online via the Website or the App, during the Promotion Period.
A “Qualifying Acca” is:
1. A cash stake of any value (no minimum stake);
2. On any football acca made of 4 or more selections;
3. Each with odds of 1/5 (1.2) or bigger;
4. On the Promotion Markets.
The “Promotion Markets” are:
1. 90 Minutes;
2. 90 Minutes 2 Up;
3. Both Teams To Score;
4. Match Under/Over Goals.
No opt in required. If the requirements of a Qualifying Acca are met, the promotion will be applied automatically. If any acca contains any selection with odds of less than 1/5 (1.2), it will not be a Qualifying Acca.
Qualifying Acca wins (less the value of the original stake) will receive an “Acca Boost”, whereby winnings will be boosted by a variable percentage, dependent on the number of selections in the Qualifying Acca:
1. 4 selections – 5% Acca Boost
2. 5 selections – 7.5% Acca Boost
3. 6 selections – 10% Acca Boost
4. 7 selections – 15% Acca Boost
5. 8 selections – 20% Acca Boost
6. 9 selections – 25% Acca Boost
7. 10 selections – 30% Acca Boost
8. 11 selections – 35% Acca Boost
9. 12 selections – 40% Acca Boost
10. 13 selections – 45% Acca Boost
11. 14 selections – 50% Acca Boost
12. 15 selections or above – 100% Acca Boost
The increasing percentage of rewards in the Acca Boost reflects the relative risk of placing Qualifying Accas with a higher number of selections.
The following maximum Acca Boost amounts will be applied per Qualifying Acca:
1. For retail customers: £2,000
2. For online customers: £10,000.
There is no daily limit of Qualifying Accas.
In the case of void selections within a Qualifying Acca, the Acca Boost will still apply but the percentage applied will be calculated according to the final number of winning selections.
In the case of an Acca dropping to three selections or less, the acca will lose its Qualifying Acca status and Acca Boost will not apply.
Any Acca Boost on winnings will be applied as part of the standard bet settlement process.
Bets you place using free bets cannot be combined with the Acca Boost
Any acca that has been cashed out will not be eligible for an Acca Boost.
For retail customers, the promotion is not available on standard over the counter bets.
