Steel City Cup Tips 2026: Woltemade To Stamp Derby Claims This Weekend
The Steel City Cup has been going since 1970 and we have six heats of the first round at Sheffield on Sunday afternoon.
WOLTEMADE in five in the last heat has won four Category One competitions this year: the Northern Puppy Derby at Newcastle in Feb, the Northern Flat at Newcastle in July, the Gold Cup at Monmore in August and the Birmingham Cup at Dunstall Park last month.
He’s thirty one kilos of raw racing power and is an absolute joy to watch in full flight. He should be cracking out in the orange jacket and making every yard.
This lad has a fabulous record with 15 from 22 in his career, and has only been out of the front three twice!
He’s pretty much nailed on to be greyhound of the year as there has not been another hound, certainly in the second half of 2026, who has been able to land a blow.
I’d be looking towards next year’s Derby with him, too, as he has that beautiful blend of speed and stamina. Watch each race live here and look out for the Price Boosts too.
