Champions League Odds: Predictions For Tuesday’s 2nd leg Play-Offs

Atletico Madrid are 7/1 for a 2-1 victory, it’s 17/2 for Bayer Leverkusen to replicate last weeks scoreline, whilst 10/11 on Inter to win the tie looks like value on home soil.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the UEFA Champions League..

The UEFA Champions League returns this week with some of Europe’s biggest clubs looking to put themselves on their way to Budapest for the final in May.

The second-leg of the UEFA Champions League fixtures on Tuesday night with get underway at 5.45pm in Madrid, as Atleti and Club Brugge have it all to play for following their 3-3 draw last week.

Later on Tuesday evening, Bayer Leverkusen will be hoping to complete the job at hand when they welcome Olympiacos to Bay Arena, whilst Inter have it all to do as they look to overturn a two-goal deficit against Bodo/Glimt at the iconic San Siro.

Elsewhere, Newcastle United take on Qarabag at St James’ Park having already got one foot in the next round following their 6-1 victory last week.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Champions League odds and betting angles for Tuesday’s fixtures:

Atletico Madrid v Club Brugge – Tuesday, 5.45pm

Punters can bet on Atletico Madrid v Club Brugge with William Hill

  • It’s a case of winner takes all on Tuesday night at the Metropolitano Stadium having both sides played their part in a thrilling 3-3 draw last week although Atleti might feel a little frustrated having let the lead slip on two occasions.
  • Atletico Madrid have progressed from nine of their ten previous two-legged European Cup/UEFA Champions League knockout stage ties when avoiding defeat away from home in the first leg, whilst even just one goal could do it having kept a clean sheet in thirteen of their last seventeen European knockout games, a win to nil for Atleti at 13/8 might catch the eye on William Hill.
  • I’m expecting goals in this one once again, all nine of Club Brugge’s UEFA Champions League games have produced at least three goals this campaign, whilst all but one of Atleti’s nine games produced the same.
    ——————————–
  • Club Brugge extended their unbeaten run to four games against Atletico Madrid last week with that 3-3 stalemate (D1, D3), whilst they have only lost one of their last seven games against Spanish sides in the UEFA Champions League.
  • Club Brugge could become just the second Belgian team this century to eliminate a Spanish opponent in the knockout stages of a major European competition, if you fancy the Belgian side to get the job completed, you can back them with William Hill at 7/2 to win the tie.
  • Six of the last eight games that Club Brugge have featured in have seen both teams find the back of the net, i’m going to back that trend to continue on Tuesday night but Atletico Madrid should have enough experience to get this tie over the tie.

Prediction: Both Teams To Score & Atletico Madrid To Win (29/20),  Atletico Madrid To Win 2-1 (7/1).

Bayer Leverkusen v Olympiacos – Tuesday, 8pm

Check out the William Hill odds for this UEFA Champions League second leg.

  • Bayer Leverkusen just need to avoid defeat by two or more goals to progress into the next round of the UEFA Champions League but return to the Bay Arena having suffered a 1-0 defeat to Union Berlin on Saturday in the Bundesliga.
  • However, Bayer Leverkusen should still be confident of bouncing back having lost consecutive games just once since March last year, The German side are priced at 17/2 with the leading bookmaker to repeat their 2-0 win last week.
  • History is definitely on Bayer Leverkusen’s side for this one as they have progressed from twenty of their twenty-two previous knockout stage ties in major European competition after winning the first of two legs.
    ——————————–
  • Olympiacos have it all to do in Germany and having only won one of their eleven away games against German sides in European competition (D1 L9) and failing to keep a clean sheet on every occasion, it’s likely the Greek side will need at least three goals to even have a chance of qualifying here.
  • Only twice in the UEFA Champions League history have a side progressed after losing the first leg on home soil by 2 or more goals, Olympiacos are a huge 14/1 with William Hill to complete the upset and advance into the next round.
  • Only two of Olympiacos’ last twelve competitive games saw both teams score, whilst Bayer Leverkusen have kept a clean sheet in each of their last four home games across all competitions, i’ll back that run to continue.

Prediction: Bayer Leverkusen To Win To Nil (23/10), Bayer Leverkusen 2-0 Olympiacos (17/2).

Inter v Bodo/Glimt – Tuesday, 8pm

Fancy Inter Milan to complete the job? Play with William Hill.

  • Inter Milan suffered a shock 3-1 defeat in Norway against Bodo/Glimt last week and now the Nerazzurri are up against it, even more so given they’ve never won a UEFA Champions League knockout match by a three goal margin.
  • Cristian Chivu’s side did bounce back on Saturday evening in Serie A and extended their lead at the top of the league by ten points, whilst the Italian giants should be fairly confident of picking up another win here as they’ve kept a clean sheet in eleven of their last fifteen UEFA home victories, you can back Inter to win the tie at 10/11 which feels like value.
  • This Inter side have lost just two of their last fifteen games in all competitions although their will be slight concern given they’ve lost their last two UCL home games in this campaign against both Arsenal and Liverpool.
    ——————————–
  • Bodo/Glimt are on the brink of creating history as they look to become the first Norwegian side to progress in a knockout stage tie in the European Cup/UEFA Champions League since Lillestrøm in the first round in 1987-88 following their 3-1 win in the first leg.
  • Wednesday’s victory seen Bodo/Glimt become the first Norwegian side ever to win three consecutive games in the UEFA Champions League, they are priced at 15/2 on William Hill to make it four in a row and complete the ultimate upset within ninety-minutes with a win.
  • This will be tough though, i just don’t see Inter Milan losing this one and the question is more about how many Inter will score as they look to create history of their own, i’m going to back the Nerazzurri to progress.

Prediction: Inter Milan To Win The Tie (10/11), Inter Milan 3-0 Bodo/Glimt (8/1).
