The UEFA Champions League returns this week with some of Europe’s biggest clubs looking to put themselves on their way to Budapest for the final in May.

Newcastle United could do without a 5,000 mile round trip just a few days before their Premier League clash with Manchester City but that’s the cost if they want to progress into the last sixteen, they face Qarabag in the first leg on Wednesday night.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some Champions League odds and betting angles for Wednesday’s fixture:

Qarabag have the chance to make some club history as they look to become the first side from Azerbaijan to beat English opposition in Europe, they lost 6-0 against Liverpool in their last UCL outing.
Nevertheless, Qarabag are the first Azerbaijani side to reach the knockout phase of this competition, this is the second time this season that they’ve welcome a Premier League side to the Tofiq Bahramov Stadium having played out a 2-2 draw here with Chelsea, William Hill has price up Qarabag double chance (win or draw) at 7/4, not bad for a place that’s tough to visit.

Newcastle United’s journey of 2,529 miles to Qarabag will be the longest ever distance travelled by an English team for a UEFA Champions League away match, whilst missing key players for this trip will make things very difficult for Eddie Howe’s side.
The Magpies showed some real fight against the ten men of Aston Villa in the FA Cup at the weekend with a 3-1 win at Villa Park, that’s now consecutive wins away from home in all competitions but they’ve won just two of their last fifteen European away games (D8, L5), they’ll be hoping to get more out of Anthony Elanga who is priced at 3/1 to assist a goal on Wednesday evening with William Hill.
Newcastle United have kept just two clean sheets in their last sixteen UEFA Champions League away games, so it’s likely they’ll need to find at least two goals in this one, i’m going to back them to do just that but a draw looks good value.

Significant Conditions

The promotion runs from 08:00 (UK time) on Thursday 7th August 2025 until otherwise cancelled by us in accordance with these Terms (the “Promotion Period”).
This Acca Boost promotion is available to both online customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland using the William Hill website (williamhill.com – the “Website”) or William Hill iOS or Android Mobile app (together, the “Apps”) and UK retail customers in William Hill shops.
To qualify, place a Qualifying Acca on a Sports Betting Terminal or over the counter on Smart Hub SSBT in William Hill shops, or online via the Website or the App, during the Promotion Period.
A “Qualifying Acca” is:
1. A cash stake of any value (no minimum stake);
2. On any football acca made of 4 or more selections;
3. Each with odds of 1/5 (1.2) or bigger;
4. On the Promotion Markets.
The “Promotion Markets” are:
1. 90 Minutes;
2. 90 Minutes 2 Up;
3. Both Teams To Score;
4. Match Under/Over Goals.
No opt in required. If the requirements of a Qualifying Acca are met, the promotion will be applied automatically. If any acca contains any selection with odds of less than 1/5 (1.2), it will not be a Qualifying Acca.
Qualifying Acca wins (less the value of the original stake) will receive an “Acca Boost”, whereby winnings will be boosted by a variable percentage, dependent on the number of selections in the Qualifying Acca:
1. 4 selections – 5% Acca Boost
2. 5 selections – 7.5% Acca Boost
3. 6 selections – 10% Acca Boost
4. 7 selections – 15% Acca Boost
5. 8 selections – 20% Acca Boost
6. 9 selections – 25% Acca Boost
7. 10 selections – 30% Acca Boost
8. 11 selections – 35% Acca Boost
9. 12 selections – 40% Acca Boost
10. 13 selections – 45% Acca Boost
11. 14 selections – 50% Acca Boost
12. 15 selections or above – 100% Acca Boost
The increasing percentage of rewards in the Acca Boost reflects the relative risk of placing Qualifying Accas with a higher number of selections.
The following maximum Acca Boost amounts will be applied per Qualifying Acca:
1. For retail customers: £2,000
2. For online customers: £10,000.
There is no daily limit of Qualifying Accas.
In the case of void selections within a Qualifying Acca, the Acca Boost will still apply but the percentage applied will be calculated according to the final number of winning selections.
In the case of an Acca dropping to three selections or less, the acca will lose its Qualifying Acca status and Acca Boost will not apply.
Any Acca Boost on winnings will be applied as part of the standard bet settlement process.
Bets you place using free bets cannot be combined with the Acca Boost
Any acca that has been cashed out will not be eligible for an Acca Boost.
For retail customers, the promotion is not available on standard over the counter bets.
