- Jakub Menšík +3.5 games (Evens)
- Elina Svitolina vs Marta Kostyuk – Over 2.5 sets (11/10)
- Mirra Andreeva -3.5 games (Evens)
The stage is set and with the race for the illustrious trophy and lucrative Roland Garros prize pot intensifying, we look at the biggest matches at the 2026 French Open on Tuesday.
Rafael Jodar vs Alexander Zverev
How much does Rafael Jodar have left in the tank? The young Spaniard has come from two sets down against Pablo Carreño Busta, overturned a 2-1 deficit against Alex Michelsen, and had a lengthy four-set match with James Duckworth in the second round.
Jodar faces Zverev, the clear favourite to win this year’s French Open. The German has had a much smoother journey to the last eight, dropping only one set. The pressure is on, though, with a huge opportunity to win a Grand Slam.
This will be a far sterner test for Zverev. Jodar is an ascending talent, who has already beaten Alex De Minaur, Learner Tien, and Cam Norrie this year.
Jakub Menšík vs João Fonseca
Two of the ATP Tour’s young sensations meet with a semi-final place up for grabs on Tuesday. Jakub Menšík won an epic against Andrey Rublev on Sunday, while João Fonseca has showcased his Grand Slam mettle with wins over Novak Djokovic and Casper Ruud.
They haven’t met on the court since the Next Gen ATP Finals in 2024. This is the first time either player has reached a Grand Slam quarter-final, though Menšík is much more experienced with his successes in Masters events.
It’s easy to see why Fonseca is favoured. He’s more comfortable on clay than Menšík in general. Still, this is set to be a tight match, and there’s value in backing the underdog.
Elina Svitolina vs Marta Kostyuk
Meeting for only the third time, and the second time since 2018, Elina Svitolina and Marta Kostyuk have impressed so far at Roland Garros. Kostyuk made light work of Iga Świątek in the last round. Svitolina came from a set down to beat Belinda Bencic.
A woman in form after winning in Madrid and Rouen, Kostyuk might be trailing her compatriot in the rankings, but she’s understandably favoured in this match. Svitolina followed a first-round loss in Madrid with a title in Rome, which included wins over three of the world’s top four players.
This is the hardest match to call in the tournament so far. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see either player win – we should be in for a classic.
Mirra Andreeva vs Sorana Cîrstea
How many Grand Slam matches have had an age gap of 17 years and 12 days? With retirement on the horizon, Sorana Cîrstea is having a spectacular resurgence, with semi-final appearances in Rouen and Rome.
Mirra Andreeva beat Cîrstea on the clay of Linz earlier this year. She’s dropped only one set through the first four rounds and has barely had to break sweat. The teenager went all the way in Linz, beat Świątek in Stuttgart, and made the final in Madrid.
As well as Cîrstea has been playing, it would take a lot to bet against Andreeva in this form.
