Wimbledon Day 3 Predictions: Best Bets On Wednesday 1st July 2026
With the 2026 Wimbledon first round well and truly underway, William Hill News focus on the biggest matches taking place on Wednesday at the Championships.
Wimbledon has started with disappointments for Brits, a handful of seeded exits, and the return of Serena Williams. What does the third day of the tournament have in store?
Wimbledon Predictions Wednesday:
- Novak Djokovic to win 3-0 (5/6)
- Jannik Sinner to win 3-1 (10/3)
- Mirra Andreeva to win 2-1 (13/5)
- Coco Gauff -5.5 games (10/11)
Here are our tennis betting tips ahead of Wednesday’s action at SW19.
Stefanos Tsitsipas vs Novak Djokovic
Novak Djokovic needed four sets to beat Wu Yibing in the first round. Stefanos Tsitsipas’ path was simpler, dropping only seven games in a straight sets win.
This is the 15th meeting between these players. Djokovic has won 12 of the previous 14, including the last 11 straight. Aside from a run to the round of 16 in Madrid, there’s been nothing to suggest Tsitsipas can roll back the years and compete here.
This should be a routine win for Djokovic. There are bigger tests to come.
Jannik Sinner vs Nuno Borges
Nuno Borges is facing Jannik Sinner for only the second time after the Italian won in straight sets in 2022. Borges easily beat qualifier Tristan Boyer in the first round, while Sinner had to fight back from 2-1 to see off Miomir Kecmanović.
Erratic and far from his best, Sinner’s performance on Monday did little to calm concerns about his recent form. Borges is no mug – he reached the semis in Mallorca and made the third round at Wimbledon in 2025.
We fancy Borges to nick a set and at least make Sinner work for this one.
Barbora Krejčíková vs Mirra Andreeva
Neither Barbora Krejčíková nor Mirra Andreeva had to break sweat in the first round. Andreeva, who has a 3-1 record against Krejčíková including a win at Wimbledon three years ago, has won three titles this year.
A French Open win was followed by a first-round exit in Hamburg. Krejčíková managed to get in more competitive reps on grass, and she won Wimbledon as recently as 2024.
This promises to be a competitive match. It’s a tougher draw for Andreeva than we might have expected – Krejčíková is not to be taken lightly.
Solana Sierra vs Coco Gauff
These players have only met twice before. Both of those contests have been in 2026, with Coco Gauff hammering Solana Sierra on the hard court and then coming from a set down to win on Rome’s clay.
Headline-making wins over Emma Raducanu and Jasmine Paolini at the French Open shouldn’t distract from what’s largely an underwhelming year for Sierra. The Argentine has a 19-18 record in 2026.
Gauff just earned her first grass-court win in two years. It’s not been a favoured surface of late, but the American should win this at a canter as she looks to overcome recent Wimbledon nightmares.
