Wimbledon Day 5 Predictions: Best Bets On Friday 3rd July 2026
The 2026 Wimbledon Tennis Championships are well underway as we enter day five and William Hill News preview the most exciting matches taking place at SW19 on Friday.
We’ve got a heap of matches for tennis fans to follow and William Hill is the place to be for all things Wimbledon this summer. Here, our tipster looks ahead to the standout fixtures scheduled.
Wimbledon Predictions Friday:
- Tommy Paul -3.5 games (Evens)
- Alejandro Davidovich Fokina -4.5 games (8/11)
- Jeļena Ostapenko +4.5 games (10/11)
- Naomi Osaka -4.5 games (8/11)
- Williams sisters to win 2-1 (27/10)
Friday sees the third round of the men’s and women’s singles draws get underway. Here are our tennis betting tips:
Hubert Hurkacz vs Tommy Paul
Tommy Paul has a 3-1 record against Hubert Hurkacz, though the pair have notably never met on grass. Neither player has dropped a set so far, with Hurkacz knocking out Casper Ruud in the opening round.
Hurkacz was a semifinalist at Wimbledon in 2021. Paul’s form is strong, with a run to the final at Queen’s and some impressive performances during the clay-court swing.
The big serve of Hurkacz is hard to break when he gets going. Paul’s all-around game should be enough to see him through, but he’ll have to work for it.
Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs Márton Fucsovics
Meeting for the first time since 2022, Alejandro Davidovich Fokina is the clear favourite over Márton Fucsovics. Fokina has won his first two matches without really breaking a sweat, but Fucsovics isn’t to be taken lightly after seeing off Learner Tien.
Fokina won in Mallorca after notching wins over Cam Norrie and Corentin Moutet at Queen’s. Fucsovics had lost seven of his last eight matches coming into Wimbledon and has only one win against a top 30 player since the turn of the year.
This should be an easy win for Fokina.
Jeļena Ostapenko vs Aryna Sabalenka
After a win over Harriet Dart in the first round, Jeļena Ostapenko was at her ruthless best with a 6-2, 6-0 demolition of Antonia Ružić. Aryna Sabalenka has been typically impressive so far, dropping only 12 games across her first two matches.
Ostapenko won her last match against Sabalenka, which came on Stuttgart’s clay in 2025. There have been chinks in Sabalenka’s armour of late with early exits in Rome, Paris, and Madrid followed by a grass-court loss to Jessica Pegula.
Given the form she’s showed so far, it’s not outrageous to imagine Ostapenko making this into a competitive match. She has two wins against top 10 players in 2026.
Daria Kasatkina vs Naomi Osaka
Daria Kasatkina hasn’t beaten Naomi Osaka in three attempts. Kasatkina has gone the distance in both of her matches, while Osaka is yet to drop a set. Notably, though, Osaka has never been beyond the third round at Wimbledon and has won only 58.8% of matches on the surface.
A run to the final in Berlin will have given Osaka some confidence ahead of the fortnight at the All England Club. Kasatkina lost her first three grass-court matches of the year, and has only beaten one player in the world’s top 20 since last year’s French Open.
Osaka is well-placed to achieve a career-best at Wimbledon and make it into the fourth round.
Solana Sierra/Camila Osorio vs Venus Williams/Serena Williams
Serena Williams’ first-round loss in the singles didn’t inspire much confidence heading into the doubles. Serena won one of her three doubles matches across Queen’s and the Berlin Open. Venus has hardly been pulling up trees on the doubles circuit, with a 3-6 record in 2026.
Experience of playing together is in the Williams’ sisters favour at least. Solana Sierra and Camila Osorio haven’t paired up previously, and Osorio fell in the first round at the Australian Open and the French Open.
There’s really not much to go on when predicting this match. It’s a long time since the Williams sisters have taken the court together in a Grand Slam setting, but they are hardly facing a doubles juggernaut in the Sierra/Osorio pairing.
