£40,000 Taylor Bet Is Biggest Ever
William Hill are hoping that Justin Pipe can do them another favour in his match against Phil Taylor after he knocked Raymond van Barneveld out of the World Matchplay on Tuesday.
Taylor was the subject of a £40,000 wager to win the tournament after his first round match against Stuart Kellet at 9/4 and after his close fought victory against Terry Jenkins, he is now 11/10 favourite ahead of 5/2 Michael van Gerwen.
Taylor is 1/8 to defeat Pipe, with the outsider 5/1 to cause an upset.
"This is one of, if not the biggest darts bet that we have ever taken on a tournament winner and we will be hoping for an upset somewhere down the line," said William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.
