Lewis lands 18k 'jackpot' for charity after 9-darter

Adrian Lewis hit a magical nine-dart finish in his third round game against Raymond van Barneveld at the William Hill World Darts Championship on Tuesday night.

The two-time World Champion's perfect leg came in the first set of the game. He opened up with back-to-back 180's before sealing the 141 finish with a double 12.

Unfortunately ‘Jackpot' couldn't hold on to his early form and eventually lost the game 4-3 to the Dutchman.

Lewis' nine-darter will earn him a £10,000 bonus, which would be shared should another player match his perfect leg in the remainder of the event.

The nine-darter also means that Haven House Children's Hospice - the official charity of the PDC - and Parkinson's UK, who are supported by Sky Sports presenter Dave Clark, will receive a £9,000 donation each from tournament sponsors William Hill.

William Hill will also donate a further £9,000 to each charity for any further nine-dart legs which are achieved during the remaining five days of the event.

William Hill are offering odds of 8/11 that there is another nine-darter in the tournament and Evens there's not.

Phil Taylor, who fought back to beat Belgian Kim Huybrechts 4-3, is the 11/8 clear favourite to win the tournament with the sponsors. The defending champ Michael Van Gerwen is next best at 9/2.
