The UEFA Champions League is back for the 71st edition of the Europe’s most prestigious club football competition, with Paris Saint-Germain looking to defend their crown.

@Footy_Tipster gives his best predictions ahead of this round of fixtures in the UEFA Champions League.

The UEFA Champions League group/league phase will conclude on Wednesday night with fourteen sides still in with a chance of securing a spot in the next round automatically with a top eight finish, with Arsenal and Bayern Munich the only two sides safely through with a game to spare.

Liverpool My Pick

Despite the pressure building on Liverpool boss Arne Slot following a poor Premier League campaign, his side sit fourth in the UEFA Champions League table with a two point gap to those play-off spots, with a visit from Qarabag on Wednesday night, the Reds should get themselves an automatic qualification spot.

Man City

A shock 3-1 defeat to Bodo/Glimt in their last UCL outing means Manchester City enter the final UCL matchday outside the top eight on goal difference, a tricky visit from Galatasaray on Wednesday night means the Cityzens could find themselves having to settle for a play-off spot.

Tottenham – My Pick

Tottenham Hotspur’s domestic struggles continue under Thomas Frank yet his side look completely different in the UEFA Champions League, Spurs are fifth in the league phase having lost just one of their seven games thus far (W4, D2), an away trip to Eintracht Frankfurt stands in the way of Spurs and a top eight finish, a fixture they won 1-0 last year in the UEFA Europa League quarter-final stage.

Chelsea

Chelsea occupy the final automatic spot ahead of Barcelona but only on goal-difference, Liam Rosenior’s side are up against it though knowing that only a win would likely confirm their place in the top eight and given there’s five sides below them all on the same points, even that might not be enough.

Newcastle

Newcastle sit above Chelsea in seventh and behind PSG on goals scored, which is significant given the two sides meet in Paris on the final night of this league phase, it’s likely that both sides will need to win this one to progress automatically, i’m backing PSG.

Here’s how to get involved in the Acca boost offer:

If the bet wins, an Acca Boost will be added to your bet returns.

Significant Conditions

The promotion runs from 08:00 (UK time) on Thursday 7th August 2025 until otherwise cancelled by us in accordance with these Terms (the “Promotion Period”).
This Acca Boost promotion is available to both online customers in the United Kingdom and Ireland using the William Hill website (williamhill.com – the “Website”) or William Hill iOS or Android Mobile app (together, the “Apps”) and UK retail customers in William Hill shops.
To qualify, place a Qualifying Acca on a Sports Betting Terminal or over the counter on Smart Hub SSBT in William Hill shops, or online via the Website or the App, during the Promotion Period.
A “Qualifying Acca” is:
1. A cash stake of any value (no minimum stake);
2. On any football acca made of 4 or more selections;
3. Each with odds of 1/5 (1.2) or bigger;
4. On the Promotion Markets.
The “Promotion Markets” are:
1. 90 Minutes;
2. 90 Minutes 2 Up;
3. Both Teams To Score;
4. Match Under/Over Goals.
No opt in required. If the requirements of a Qualifying Acca are met, the promotion will be applied automatically. If any acca contains any selection with odds of less than 1/5 (1.2), it will not be a Qualifying Acca.
Qualifying Acca wins (less the value of the original stake) will receive an “Acca Boost”, whereby winnings will be boosted by a variable percentage, dependent on the number of selections in the Qualifying Acca:
1. 4 selections – 5% Acca Boost
2. 5 selections – 7.5% Acca Boost
3. 6 selections – 10% Acca Boost
4. 7 selections – 15% Acca Boost
5. 8 selections – 20% Acca Boost
6. 9 selections – 25% Acca Boost
7. 10 selections – 30% Acca Boost
8. 11 selections – 35% Acca Boost
9. 12 selections – 40% Acca Boost
10. 13 selections – 45% Acca Boost
11. 14 selections – 50% Acca Boost
12. 15 selections or above – 100% Acca Boost
The increasing percentage of rewards in the Acca Boost reflects the relative risk of placing Qualifying Accas with a higher number of selections.
The following maximum Acca Boost amounts will be applied per Qualifying Acca:
1. For retail customers: £2,000
2. For online customers: £10,000.
There is no daily limit of Qualifying Accas.
In the case of void selections within a Qualifying Acca, the Acca Boost will still apply but the percentage applied will be calculated according to the final number of winning selections.
In the case of an Acca dropping to three selections or less, the acca will lose its Qualifying Acca status and Acca Boost will not apply.
Any Acca Boost on winnings will be applied as part of the standard bet settlement process.
Bets you place using free bets cannot be combined with the Acca Boost
Any acca that has been cashed out will not be eligible for an Acca Boost.
For retail customers, the promotion is not available on standard over the counter bets.
